This 10th Annual Gathering of the Clans event will be hosted by Sifu Mike Martin of Living Waters Martial Arts in Prince George, Virginia. 9am-4pm and the cost is only $25 for the day and includes lunch. ​What is Operation Christmas Giveaway?
David and Melanie Sgro are Christian Missionaries to Guatemala and the Philippines. In 2002 David and his Karate School collected 100 Shoe Boxes, filled with Health Supplies, School Supplies, and toys and the boxes were shipped to the beautiful Indigenous Mayan children in Guatemala.  2024 is our 23rd year!

He will also be hosting Dennis Forleo of Shepherd-Warrior Martial Arts in Billings, Montana for a Shiho Karano Ju Jitsu clinic in the morning. Contact GM Sgro for info and details.

KOINONA NATIONAL CONFERENCE

May 16-18, 2025

Koinonia is the annual national conference of the Christian Black Belt Association and Shiho Karano Kai International. It has become a gathering place for martial artists and their families from across the country since its humble beginnings in May of 1990 at Ciotti Manor in Herman, Pennsylvania. The Christian Black Belt Association was founded in 1970 to provide mentoring, support, and training to assist Christian instructors in ministry. The Shiho Karano Kai International was founded in 1982 to meet the need of those martial artists seeking fellowship and training but who did not wish to be a part of the CBBA. Attendees are able to participate in eight (8) seminars during the weekend.
 
Koinonia also includes daily worship led by Conference Pastor, Fran Pultro from King’s Highway Calvary Chapel as well as activities for the non-martial artist in the family including a Ladies Tea for wives, mothers and daughters of martial artists. Participants have their choice of accommodations from lodge to cabin style housing. The food is terrific and the training atmosphere is uplifting and inspiring.
 
Koinonia 2025 will be held at Lake Placid Christian Camp in Hartford City, Indiana. Registration will open early in 2025.
