KOINONA NATIONAL CONFERENCE

May 16-18, 2025

Koinonia is the annual national conference of the Christian Black Belt Association and Shiho Karano Kai International. It has become a gathering place for martial artists and their families from across the country since its humble beginnings in May of 1990 at Ciotti Manor in Herman, Pennsylvania. The Christian Black Belt Association was founded in 1970 to provide mentoring, support, and training to assist Christian instructors in ministry. The Shiho Karano Kai International was founded in 1982 to meet the need of those martial artists seeking fellowship and training but who did not wish to be a part of the CBBA. At the conference, attendees are able to participate in up to eight (8) seminars during the weekend. These seminars are taught by high level affiliate instructors of the CBBA and SKKI.
 
The Koinonia Conference also includes daily worship led by Conference Pastor, Fran Pultro from Calvary Chapel King’s Highway as well as activities for the non-martial artist(s) in the family, including a Ladies Tea for wives, mothers and daughters of martial artists. Participants have their choice of accommodations from lodge to cabin style housing. The food is terrific and the training atmosphere is uplifting and inspiring.
 
Koinonia 2025 will be held at Lake Placid Christian Camp in Hartford City, Indiana. Registration is open.
